Jan Bultheel worked for 16 years directing and producing mainly commercials in his own production company ‘Pix & Motion’, which brought him international recognition with numerous awards. In the new millennium Jan concentrated on creative work for theater and dance companies. He authored, designed and directed ‘Hareport’, an animated series for children produced by TF1 and Ketnet. In 2015 his first animated feature CAFARD was premiered with international press acclaim. Jan is now working on different projects as Creative Director at Hamletfilms. TWO MOONS, an animated feature and TRISTAN DA CUNHA, a VR project and graphic novel.

ANIMATED FEATURE FILM FOR AN ADULT AUDIENCE
Cafard is Jan Bultheel's first animated feature, produced by Arielle Sleutel for Tondofilms and premiered in september 2015 during the Ostend Film Festival. It is a CGI production based on mocap recordings with dramatic actors: Wim Willaert, Dinara Drukarova, Sebastien Dewaele and Maarten Ketels. Prod: Tondo, Tarantula, Superprod, Topkapi.
1914. While Jean Mordant is winning the title of Wrestling Champion of the World, back home in Ostend his daughter Mimi is raped by German soldiers. Jean swears to avenge her and enrols in the prestigious ACM, the first ever armoured car division. Little does he know he is embarking on a dramatic odyssey which will drag him around the world.

Thomas White Wolf is a 15-year-old Lakota boy who travels through Europe as a show Indian with the Buffalo Bill Wild West show at the end of the 19th century. Confronted with the hypocrisy of Euro-American culture, Thomas denounces the cultural oppression of his people. Loyal to his identity he needs to find his place in an inevitable new future.
